Thanks for stopping by! I am Nolisha (like one LEE-sha but none!) I'm currently diving into Social Service Worker - Immigrants and Refugees (SSW-IR) at Seneca Polytechnic. However, my journey extends beyond the classroom; enriched by art, a commitment to social change, and over a decade of experience in customer service and administration.
Having grown up in Toronto's most underserved communities (Regent Park, Moss Park, Scarborough TCHC) I am grounded in a commitment to social justice and equity. As a youth and young adult I experienced precarious housing, and food insecurity, so I embrace each opportunity to collaborate with individuals from all walks of life, having been through life on the margins aswell. With a strong dedication to community strengthening, I've volunteered hundreds of hours to various community-based organizations across Toronto such as Yonge Street Mission, Scott Mission, and Volunteer Toronto. Driven by a profound desire to learn to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, my academic journey has been marked by recognition and achievement, including the President's List Award from Seneca College.
As a racialized woman, I thrive in diverse environments, and I'm eager to contribute my skills and passion to agencies and movements that drive meaningful change in Toronto.
